Parallel Universe: We Might Be Living in an Alternate Reality!
With past years our understanding of science and the universe has expanded exponentially giving us a complete new outlook towards it and opening up a very controversial idea yet an intriguing one: do parallel universes exist? People might say “that’s a completely philosophical bullshit having no solid proof” but as science and our understanding of the universe is escalating we have, with all interest and purpose started taking this idea critically and realized that the probability of this simple idea being actually true is quite high. Many popular and widely successful theories like the quantum entanglement and the theory of expansion of the universe has led many of the scientists…
83 Black Holes Found at the Edge of the Universe
International astronomers have made an incredible discovery recently that many may not see the significance of right away. Astronomers discovered 83 supermassive black holes on the edge of the universe. There’s a lot to unpack from that simple statement, but the discovery remains the same. After all, astronomers were pretty confident we wouldn’t find black holes in these far-reaching places, but now we have 83. So, let’s jump into an explanation and try to figure out the basics. What Does This Mean? Let’s start by taking apart the black holes. A supermassive black hole is often found in the center of a galaxy, like the Milky Way, and are extremely…
Millennium Simulation – The Gigantic Size of our Universe [Video]
The Millennium Simulation, also known as the Millennium Run, is a giant simulation of the whole known Universe. It clearly shows the distribution of clusters and super-clusters of galaxies as well as giant voids. It is the largest and most precise model of the Universe ever conceived. The simulation was run in 2005 by the Virgo Consortium, an international group of astrophysicists from Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and the United States. One thing that really strikes you as you watch this video is how those galactic clusters are arranged in a pattern that looks like the neurons in our brains. It’s interesting that the Universe takes this form in…
Astronomy Picture of the Week – Distant Spiral Galaxy NGC 4603
This photo taken by the Hubble Space Telescope shows a magnificent view of the spiral galaxy NGC 4603. It is a very distant galaxy because it is located in the Centaurus cluster about 108 million light-years away from Earth.
